Equinix Allocates $4.9 Billion of Green Bond Proceeds

Equinix, a global interconnection and data centre company, has committed $4.9 billion in green bond proceeds towards various sustainable projects.

DigitalBridge-Sponsored Scala Issues $215 Million in Green Debentures

Scala, a data centre company backed by DigitalBridge, has successfully issued $215 million worth of green debentures.

 Yondr Group has initiated operations at its data centre facility in Loudoun County.

Scala Data Centres Launches Data Centre in Porto Alegre, Brazil

Scala Data Centres has unveiled a new data centre in Porto Alegre, Brazil, reinforcing its presence in the South American market.

Vantage Files Plans for San Antonio Data Centre

Vantage Data Centres has filed plans for the construction of a data centre in San Antonio.

The data centre, which will span 242,667 sq ft (22,545 sqm) of floorspace, will be a two-story building with a total capacity of 32MW across four data halls, each with 8MW. The filing estimates that the project will cost close to $96 million.

This move signifies Vantage’s strategic expansion efforts in catering to the increased data needs in the region, aiming to deliver robust and reliable data infrastructure.

Japan to Provide Up to $16M for Cambodian National Data Centre

Japan has committed to providing financial aid of up to $16 million for the development of a national data centre in Cambodia.

Cambodia announced its Cambodia Digital Government Policy 2022-2035 in January 2022, a program that will see the Government of Cambodia fully digitize its operations by 2035. The first stage of this will be for multiple Digital Revolution Units to be established by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications by 2024.

This investment emphasizes Japan’s support for enhancing Cambodia’s digital infrastructure and technological capabilities.

NTT and TEPCO Power Grid to Develop Data Centres in Tokyo, Japan

NTT and TEPCO Power Grid have announced a collaboration to develop data centres in Tokyo, Japan.

According to Tepco’s fourth comprehensive special business plan, the company is already involved in data centre business projects in “several locations” and is aiming for a profit of 70 billion yen ($488m) from the data centre businesses by fiscal year 2026.

This partnership aims to leverage NTT’s expertise in data solutions and TEPCO’s robust power grid to facilitate the creation of advanced data infrastructure.

Telehouse, a global data centre provider, has achieved full occupancy of its new data centre in Frankfurt within a remarkably short period of two months from its launch.
