Colt Data Centre Services is expanding its presence in Frankfurt, Germany, by breaking ground on its third hyperscale data centre.

The data centre will provide direct access to DE-CIX, one of the world’s largest internet exchange points, and multiple dark fibre providers. Maintaining its neutrality in terms of cloud, carrier, and IX, the Frankfurt data centre will have multiple entry points and alternative carrier routing to hopefully minimise the risk of service disruptions.

This move aligns with the company’s strategy to meet the surging demand for hyperscale data solutions in one of Europe’s key data centre markets.

The opening was announced by billionaire and Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani.

Speaking to an audience at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet he said the group is investing in renewable energy and green hydrogen as well as in setting up a data centre in the state.

“Reliance has partnered with Canada’s Brookfield asset management and US-based Digital Reality to set up a state-of-the-art data centre, which will be opened next week,” he said.

Tloop, a Swedish data centre operator, has acquired a data centre in Stockholm.

“Acquisition of existing data centers is an important part of T.Loop’s establishment strategy,” said Mathias Lindqvist, chief engineer and T.Loop co-founder. “We see great potential in this facility where we will be able to reuse the existing infrastructure and thus quickly be able to offer colocation services to our customers. At the same time, we also see good conditions for being able to recycle all the heat generated in the data center to heat the property in which it is located.”

NTT to Launch New DC in North India

NTT is planning to launch a new data centre in North India.

According to a post made on its official profile on a professional networking site, the scalable facility will have a total of 52.8 MW critical IT load. On its website, it tells potential clients of its new NOIDA 2 data center, “Spread over six acres, the campus will support 52.8MW capacity across two buildings. Building A will support 22.4MW of critical IT load and building B will support 30.4MW. The buildings have seismic dampeners to protect the structure and best ensure the protection and continual operation of your equipment.”
