Compass Datacenters has initiated a massive $10 billion data center project in Illinois. CEO Chris Crosby emphasises a strategic “go slow before we go fast” approach, focusing on meticulous planning before accelerating construction.

Compass CEO Chris Crosby, said: “At Compass, we go slow before we go fast. We are taking a methodical approach to demolition and doing all we can to minimize waste. It will take over a year to complete this work, setting the stage for Compass to do what it does best – building sustainably and building to last.”

NTT Breaks Ground on Jakarta Data Center

NTT has commenced construction on a new data center in Jakarta, Indonesia. This facility will cater to the growing demand for digital services in Southeast Asia, providing high-performance, secure, and reliable infrastructure.

First announced in May, the seven-story Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center (JKT2A) will offer 12MW across 5,800 sqm (62,430 sq ft) of IT space, and is designed for high-density racks of up to 40kW. The existing JKT2 offers 9.4MW across 5,400 sqm (58,125 sq ft) and capacity for 2,800 racks across eight stories. The company acquired the facility in 2015 through the purchase of Cyber CSF.

The project is part of NTT’s broader strategy to expand its data center footprint in the Asia-Pacific region, supporting the digital transformation of businesses and enhancing the region’s digital economy.

5C Data Centers Announces 200MW Campus in Columbus, Ohio

5C Data Centers has announced plans for a new 200MW data center campus in Columbus, Ohio. The facility will provide extensive digital infrastructure to meet the growing demand for data services.

The company plans to expand to an additional 320,000 sq ft (29,730 sqm) of data center capacity in the next development phase. The site will feature 42 data halls optimized to accommodate average densities of more than 100kW per rack. CMH01 is powered by its own substation served by First Energy.
